DRUMMER

Hello - thanks for visiting my site.

I am a professional drummer located in the Chicago area and play regularly with several Corporate Event / Wedding bands, Jazz groups, big bands, high-energy Party Rock bands, Live Karaoke bands and Praise and Worship bands.

Recording drum tracks from my studio is another great way I’ve discovered to creatively interact with musicians from around the world.
Though I usually prefer to be paid in U.S. currency, I recently played a Sierra Club benefit and was paid with a dozen farm fresh eggs.
TEACHER

Teaching is a passion and I’ve taught private drum lessons at one of the country's premier professional drum shops - The Drum Pad - for many years. After that shop closed, I expanded my teaching to include The Music Room in Palatine and my home studio in Batavia.

SKYPE LESSONS NOW AVAILABLE!

I am a supportive, patient and motivating teacher. My teaching focuses on developing the musical skills necessary to perform at a high level whether in a school band or as a professional drummer.

Many of my former students are now successful professional drummers in their own right.

I am very proud of all of my students.
WRITER

Writing is a great creative outlet and I have been a music writer for various music magazines and websites for over a decade.

I write educational articles, features, product reviews and transcriptions for each issue of
Drum! Magazine. I have also produced lesson videos for their website and my YouTube channel - visit https://bit.ly/2Tkj53H

I've also written drumming articles for www.Reverb.com.

In 2012, I transcribed and co-authored the Hudson Music / Hal Leonard book
Todd Sucherman: Method and Mechanics which received many 5-Star reviews from around the world. I was honored that it was also nominated for both a Drum! Magazine Drummie Award and a Modern Drummer Reader's Choice selection as the best educational book of the year.

My resume also includes writing for
Modern Drummer, Electronic Musician, Drumhead, Traps, How To Play Drums and JazzTimes magazines as well as many websites including Drum! Magazine, Thomann (music retailer), Gearwire, and Reverb.
My English teachers would be shocked by all of this.
